South Central Communications (SCC) believes quality education is foundational for young people to compete in today’s fast-changing world. Not only is a good education extremely valuable to the scholarship recipient, but we recognize it also benefits the community in which they live. That’s why in 2014, we increased our scholarship awards to $1,000/each, providing over $100,000 in higher education opportunities to deserving students.
New for the 2019-2020 school year, we’ve placed an emphasis on awarding scholarship funds to students who desire to attend trade and vocational schools. In addition, SCC will be granting adult education scholarships to workers seeking better career and employment opportunities.
2019-2020 Scholarship Program Breakdown
- 11 General Education Scholarships in the amount of $1,000 for one year.
- 12 Trade and Vocational Scholarships in the amount of $3,000 split over two years.
- Two Adult Education Scholarships in the amount of $4,000 split over two years.
“Our desire is to bring educated industry back to the areas in which our youth desire to live and raise their families. Our hope is that this refocus towards trade and vocational education will aid in that endeavor,” explained CEO, Michael East. “We believe that education is essential to everything good in this world and key to our collective future.”
